Doug & Elna Edgar and family started growing Peas and Asparagus in 1986 on our century farm. These are still the main vegetables on the Edgar's farm now with the addition of beans, preservatives, pies and natural beef. |
Our daughters began growing peas in 1986 to earn a little spending money. Today we are still growing fresh peas with our grand daughter Makayla who enjoys the harvest straight from the field. |

We started off with 1 acre of asparagus in 1986, but soon expanded to 17 acres, the largest asparagus field in Alberta. When picking we snap the asparagus off at ground level. By doing this, you will not have to cut off the tough bottom before you cook. |
For recipes to cook asparagus, please visit our website www.edgarfarms.com and follow the links to asparagus. |

During the summer months we stock our farm store with fresh Innisfail Growers produce. Fridges and freezers keep the beef frozen and produce fresh even on the hottest of days. Please stop by on your way to Glenifer Lake, on your way home after the weekend or anytime your passing by Innisfail. Remember we are only 5 minutes west of the QE2 (Hwy #2). |
