Mixed Bagged Lettuce

Our mixed lettuce bags are grown in our greenhouse hydroponically.
The lettuce is started in peat moss under a florescent light.
Once the roots are mature enough, the plants are transplanted into
the waterbeds. The water has a balance of nutrients perfect for
the ideal growing conditions for lettuce. The lettuce leaves are
individually hand picked and bagged to create a spring salad mix.
This mixture will contain head, red and green leaf, red and green
romaine, red and green butter, and red and green oak leaf lettuce.
Lettuce contains vitamins A and C, iron, and calcium. No herbicides
or pesticides are used. People are welcome to come tour our
greenhouse to see the lettuce in production. It is very interesting
to see. Lettuce bags should be used within 2-3 days.

Field Head Lettuce

We are growing a variety of lettuces including: red and green romaine,
red and green leaf, red and green butter, red and green oak leaf,
red Batavian and green iceberg types. All lettuce is started in the
greenhouse and then transplanted to the field. Our lettuce is
watered through a drip irrigation system. Lettuce should be eaten
within 3-4 days. It is recommended to eat different colors or
vegetables to receive different nutrients. This is the case with red
lettuce versus green and nutrients will different in each color.
I find the red lettuces to be spicier in flavor and the green to be
milder.

Lettuce Gardens

Lettuce gardens are ideal for the deck or balcony. You will be able
to pick the lettuce for a number of weeks. Be sure to keep the
gardens well watered. Once the lettuce is finished, empty the pot
and return it to Innisfail Growers booth. I can reuse these pots.
